WordPress, and my slow, fussy, be-hated HP laptop are teaching me, finally, not to try to write directly into WordPress.
I’ve known for some time that composing in WP was not the best practice, but there’s something about the immediacy that gets me writing more than working in the detested WORD.
So now I’m doing my writing in either Notepad or Omm Writer.
What I did this week:
Responded to an invitation from Life’s Too Good to engage in discussion. Topic we ended up talking about was how MDBP applies to sites that are not focused on business, making money, leadership or productivity. Join that, or other discussions on the MDBP page.
Switched the pre-launch site back to my Tidal Life Genesis child theme.
Decided what content will go in my Tidal Life “toolbox” section which will house the evergreen basic articles that introduce the principles of the Tidal Life. Batted around ideas for what to call that section. Toolbox is widely used, but isn’t right for TL. Other ideas are:
- Tackle Box? No, this is not a fishing site
- Bait Box? Ditto
- Beach Bag? Too cutesy and feminine/family oriented
- Picnic Basket? Not a food site
- Trunk?
- Backpack?
- Kit?
- Gear Bag?
- Bosun’s Bag?
- Ditty Bag?
- Stowage Locker? Too yachty
- Principles? Too dry and philosophic
- Epistles? Too religious
- Manifesto? Too political
Please post ideas. I’m fresh out and if I had to launch the site right now the name for my toolbox section would be Pirate Satchel.
What I learned this week:
Small increments of progress can feel just fine if your expectations are in line with reality.
After the discussion on LTG I remembered my on again off again interest in a mastermind group. Alan, at LTG, asked if there was anything he could help with. Hmmm – maybe I’ll see if he wants to be a mastermind.
Plans for next week:
Mine the current Tidal Life for material to stow in the Pirate Satchel.

Hey Nancy,
many thanks for the mention here – it’s been an interesting discussion so far and I’m really pleased to have you involved, as always, do let me know if there’s anything I can help you with.
I’m still working lots out myself but feel like we’re making good progress and I’m sure we can help each other out along the way,
thanks again & take care,
Alan

Hi Alan,
I’ve been watching you creep up the MDBP stats chart. You’re doing well. I moved forward a little this week too. That happens each time I write, and I know the key is to write more. That’s where I could use some help!
